Irrigation projects estimated to cost £22,500,000 and taking 20 years to complete, are planned by the Government of the Nizam of Hyderabad, India’s' premier prince, who is reputed to bo one of the richest men in the world.

By harnessing the waters of the Kistna, Tungabadra, and Bhima Rivers an area of over 4,050,000 acres will be irrigated in which the majority of the inhabitants at present suffer acutely from famine, ,due to lack o 1 water In a dry season.

Many-thousands of acres of hitherto arid land will also be irrigated.
