AUTUMN BLOOMS
SHOW AT HtJNTLY. FINE DISPLAY OF FLOWERB. A high standard of exhibits ‘was..again maintained at the annual autumn' show held by the Huntly Horticultural and Beautifying Society on Friday, when there was a line display or chrysanthemums and dahlias. There w T as also a section for school work in which some Unc exhibits were displayed by pupils of the Huntly District High School. A court arranged by members or the Huntly Women’s Institute was also a centre of much interest.
The judges were:—Flowers, Mr G. Mills, Auckland; preserves, Mrs T. Chisholm; school w’ork, Messrs R. C. I). Lightbourne and R. Wilcox. A beautirul display or dahlias was arranged by Mr B. S. Andrews, of Auckland.
The prize-winners were as follows:--Chrysanthemums: Open class, Mr 11. Bond (Huntly); amateur class, Mr V. Mellow (Ohaupo); novice class, Mr R. Roberts (Huntly). Cut Dowers, Miss E. Fairhurst. . Decorative section, Mrs F. Meek. Preserves, Mrs F. Meek. Vegetables, Mr M. • Shepherd. The champion or champion’s for chrysanthemums was awarded to- Mr. VI Mello\y,l of Ohaupo.
