CONVALESCENT WOMEN

BRYANT HOIVIE PROPOSALS. three months during winter. That the health-giving facilities at the Bryant Home, Raglan, would probably be available for three months each winter for convalescent women was intimated by the founder and chairman of the Bryant House Trustees, Mr D. V. Bryant, addressing a conference of the Waikato Federation of Women's Institutes in Hamilton yesterday. Mr Bryant recalled that three years ago it had been decided to open the home to convalescent women during the winter more as an experiment. The trials had proved successful and, in future, tho home would probably bo at the service of women between May and September each year. He stressed the fact that Bryant Home was not a charitable institution, no call being made for donations from the public. The original endowment and the returns from accrued assets had proved sufficient to conduct I lie home. “ it is my privilege to thank the Women’s Institutes for selecting suit;iihle cases last winter for treatment at the home," Mr Bryant said. " I believe that a certain number of beds might be. allocated constantly to the Institutes whose responsibility it would be. to till tliein.” Observing that Mr Bryanl had been whole-hearted and enthusiastic in Ills ideals, the president, Mrs A. M. Bobson .thought that il was an excellent opportunity for Jnstitulcs to continue with their work of selection of convalescents for the home.
