Mr N. Malcolm, of Rustenburg, South Africa, is at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr W. R. Shaw, of Stratford, is visiting Raglan. Mr Nixon, of the editorial staff of the Canterbury Times was in Hamilton on Saturday. Mr J. L. MacTaggart, of Brisbane, chairman of directors of MacTaggart, Limited, arrived at Auckland by the Monterey on Saturday. •Mr E. G. Theodore, a former Premier of Queensland, and exTreasurer of the Commonwealth, and Mrs Theodore, are through passengers to Suva by the Monterey, which left Auckland on Saturday. Mr J. 11. Boas, chief of the Division of Forest Products of the Australian Commonwealth, arid a member of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, passed through Auckland on Saturday on the Monterey on his way to the United States. Messrs W. D. Hunt, C. 11, Huon, L. W. Penhey (Wellington), J, G. Phillipps, R. Campbell, L. F. Bedford, N. A. Wear, Mathieson, J. Lawrence, O. Thomas, L. P. llardie, J. F. C. Wilson (Auckland), R. H. Hay (Tauranga), and B. A.'Mail’ (Christchurch) are at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr T. E. D. Clarke, of Melbourne, who is prominent in racing circles In Australia, arrived at Auckland by the Monterey on Saturday. Mr Clarke, who disposed of his stud stock last week with the object of retiring from racehorse breeding, intends to spend ■ a month at Rotorua fishing. Mr Norman Brookes, of Melbourne, a former world champion tennis player, was a through passenger by the Monterey, which left Auckland on Saturday for Los Angeles. Mr Brookes, who is the honorary manager of the Australian Davis Cup team, will spend some time in England before returning to Australia.
