MATAMATA SHOW.

INCREASED ENTRIES. FINE DISPLAY OF STOCK. (Times Special Reporter). MATAMATA, Saturday. With entries exceeding those of last year by over 100, the annual Summer Show of the Matamata Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held to-day. Fine weather attracted a large attendance. All the cattle classes were strongly supported and, in the estimation of the judges, the stock on display was of a first-class order. Jerseys as usual were to the fore, but it was gratifying to see considerable increases in the number of entries in the sections for Ayrshires and Shorthorns. The classes for draught horses also showed increases, while the hack and light horse section was patronised by some of the finest horse-breeders in the province.. The gain in numbers meant no sacrifice in quality and the judges commented eulogistically upon the standard o'f the entries.
