GIRL SWIMMERS

HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS. ANNUAL EVENTS DECIDED. CLOSE AND EXCITING 'CONTESTS. With splendid entries In all events and the swimming of a very high ■standard the annual swimming sports of the Hamilton High School girls yesterday were very successful. The sports wore held in (he school's beautiful baths and the large crowd of parents and old pupils witnessed some close and thrilling contests. The features of the sports were the high standard of the swimming and the largo number of pupils competing. The existence of the baths lias undoubtedly induced a larger number of girls lo learn to swim and that they have become very proficient in the art was evidenced yesterday.

v Tlie diving displays were excellent, botli the seniors and juniors displaying a great knowledge of diving. The senior dive and Ihe fancy diving display drew rounds of applause from the spectators. The annual swimming sports of the Hamilton Diocesan School for Girls were held at the Municipal Baths yesterday afternoon before , large attendance of parents and friends. Some interesting events were witnessed, the diving and swimming being of a high standard. Tile novelty * events provided much amusement.
