AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY MR JUSTICE FRAZER NAMED. •POST AS DEPUTY-CHAIRMAN. (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.} * . WELLINGTON, Monday. It Is now revealed that the appointment of Mr Justice Frazer, the chairman of the recent Dairy Commission, to the position of deputy-chairman of the Executive Commission of Agriculture, is likely to be announced this week.
The - two . other members of the commission, excluding the Minister of Agriculture, were stated, in a message previously received by Ihe Waikato
Times, to be Mr David Jones, chairman of the Meat Producers’ Board, and Mr G. A. Duncan, secretary of the Hawera Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited.
Mr Justice Frazer, M.A., LL.B., who was admitted a barrister and solicitor in 1906, practised at Christchurch and Milton before being appointed a stipendiary magistrate in 1911. He has occupied several important positions in recent years, being chairman of the Public Service Appeal Board, and Post and Telegraph Appeal Board in 1918, and Assistant Public Service Commissioner in 1920. In 1921 he was appointed judge of the Arbitration Court, and was acting-Judge of the Supreme Court in 1928.
Recognised as an authority in his department, Mr Justice Frazer was received with enthusiasm when he was appointed to preside oyer the deliberations of the Dairy Commission in April, 1934. During the sitting of the Commission he was afforded opportunities, available to very few, of examining every aspect of the dairying and associated industries.
