WAIKATO CLUB. ALLOCATION OF PERMIT. PROTEST ENTERED. At a committee meeting of the Waikato Trotting Club yesterday, over which Mr. T. G. Reynolds presided there were present:—Messrs. W. T. C. Christie, A. B. Cassidy, H. Windsor, A. Sutherland, J. Dalgleish, C. V. Carley and the secretary, Mr. W. H. Allen. Intimation was received that the club’s application for an extra permit on one. of the dales rendered vacant through the Hawke’s Bay Club not utilising its two days. had been refused, it being pointed out that the dates had been allocated elsewhere, It was decided to protest strongly against the allocation. The Waikato Club with its up-to-date facilities and splendid codrse had every justification for seeking an extra day. An application from the sub-centre of the Amateur Athletic Union for permission to use the club's course on February 2 was granted subject to certain conditions.

A letter of appreciation was received from the Waikato Farm School thanking the club for its assistance over the past three years.
