WELCOME RAIN.

HEAVY FALL AT HUNTLY. RAIN enters shops. THE FOOTPATHS FLOODED. (Special to Times.) HUNTLY, Monday. A thunderstorm of considerable intensity struck lluntly this afternoon, and in many parts of the town the footpaths were inundated with water, with which the water channels were totally unable to cope. Tlic most serious Hooding occurred on the-road under the railway bridge, the main entrance to the town, and traffic was held up as a result, a detour having to be made via side roads. Water entered the premises ot' the Farmers’ Trading -Company and the Town Hall, but little damage was done.

LIGHT FALL IN HAMILTON. Only comparatively light, showers were experienced in Hamilton up to time of going to press, though thunder was heard in the distance and a heavy downpour seemed likely.
