The Te Aroha Amusement Company applied Tor permission to screen suitable pictures on Christmas Day.—'The application was granted, under certain conditions. The application rrom a property owner ror the cancellation or. three years’ rates, consSquent upon the recent death or her husband, was granted. Conference Regarding Unemployment. A letter was read from the Temuka Borough Council stating that no rurther action would be taken In regard to holding a conrerence or borough councils to consider unemployment matters. The Young New Zealand 'League-wrote that arrangements were being made for a big contingent or school boys to visit Wellington and Auckland in connection with the tour or the Duke of Gloucester and suggesting that the council might facilitate the matter or a good representation from Te Aroha district.
