SHEEPSKIN SALES. KEEN COMPETITION. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. LONDON, October 25. At the sheepskin sales 5347 were offered, including 682 of Australian and 1539 of New Zealand. There was a good attendance and keen competition. Continental iflrms were (the chief buyers and about 65 per cent of the offering was sold. There were some withdrawals of New Zealand’s owing to the high limits; All sorts were dearer. Compared with' September sales, Australian merino combing was 7J per 'cent; olothing wools slightly up; iflne crossbreds 5 to 7J; all New Zealand’s skins were from Par to 5 per cent up, and lambs were slightly higher.

SYDNEY. October 26. Following are to-day’s quotations on the ’Sydney produce market:—Wheat: At country sidings,’bagged 2s id, bulk 2s OJd, equal to 2s 8d and 2s B}d ex trucks Sydney. Flour, £8 ss; bran, £5; pollard, £5 ss; potatoes, Tasmanian £l4, Victorian £l2; onions, Victorian : £9; maize, yellow and white, 3s 3d.. ADELAIDE, October 26. Wheat: 'Growers’ lots, 2s 8d to 2s Bid; flour, bakers’ lots, £8 ss; bran and pollard, £5 ss; oats, Algerian, 2s 3d; barley, 2s 6d to 2s lOd. MELBOURNE, October 26. Wheat, 2s 104 d; flour, £'7 12s' 6d; bran, £5; pollard, £5 ss; oats, 2s 3d; barley, English; 2s lOd to 3s 2d; maize, 3s 7d; potatoes, lower red soils, £7 10s to £8 10s, grey soils, £6 10s to £7; onions, weak, £6 10s to £6 15 s.
AUCKLAND PRODUCE.
Fowlwheat.—The market remains steady. The value remains about 5s 2d a busbel, through store. .Maize. —Offerings have been noticeably freer during the past week. The price is unaltered .at 4s 2d a bushel through store. , : >"■ Oats and Ctyaff.—With an abundance of feed there has been a slackening in the demand for feed oats. The price remains at 3s 4d a bushel, through store. Chaff is selling at £7 10s to £7 15s a ton through store. Bran and 'Pollard. —The Australian position for pollard is a little weaker and prices are now on a par with New Zealand.’ Through store pollard Is now worth £6 15s a ton. There Is a quiet but steady demand for bran, which is worth £6 a ton, through store. Potatoes.—-Stocks of Southern aye extremely light and the market is firm’ at from 6s to 6s -6cl per cwt. New potatoes are coming forward in, increasing quantities, values through auction being between lid to 2d a lb. Onions. —Fair stocks of Canadianare riraintaining their price at 13s 6d a 1001 b bag. , Poultry. —Cockerels, heavy breeds, prime, 4s 6d to 6s 6d; not prime, 3s up; light breeds, prime, 3s to 4s 6d; not prime, 2s Gd up; fat roosters, heavy breeds, prime, 2s to 2s Gel; light breeds, Is 6d to 2s; fat hens, heavy broeds, 2s 9d to 3s 9d; light breeds, Is 9d to 2s 9d; pullets, heavy breeds, best. 3s to 4s 6d; smaller, 2s up; light breeds, best, 2s 6d to 4s; smaller, Is 6d up; drakes, young, prime, 2s 3d to 3s 3d; smaller, Is up; old, Is 3d to 2s; ducks, young, Is 9d to 2s 9d; old, Is 3d to 2s; geese, 4s to ss; turkey hens, 4s 6d to (is; gobblers, 6s to 14s; cockerel chicks, heavy breeds, 6d to 3s; light breeds. NGARUAWAHIA STOCK SALE.
The Farmers’ Go-opera live Auctioneering Company Limited report having held their Ngaruawa'hia slock sale on Friday, when a good yarding of cattle came forward. The entry comprised mostly stores. A small entry of 'beef sold at late rates, while heifers were dull of sale. A heavy entry of dairy cattle was penned. This met with an erratic demand with low values prevailing. We quote:— Cattle: Light fat cows and heifers, £3 15s to £4 Cs; tillable cows, £2 6s to £2 16s; fresh conditioned cows, 25s to 355; boner cows, 11s to 18s; Jersey and Jersey cross heifers, 20s to 355; smaller Jersey and Jersey cross heifers, 15s to 22s Od; service bulls, £3 to £5; yearling service bulls, 30s to £3 10s; good quality springing Jersey heifers, £4 to £4 10s; good quality heifers in milk, £3 10s to £4; medium springing heifers, £2 to £3; sound dairy cows, £2 to £3 ss; aged dairy cows, 20s to 30s.
OHINEWAI HORSE SALE.
Messrs. G. W. Vercoc and Company, Limited, report having held a horse sale aL Olilnewai yesterday, when the advertised entry came forward. Competition on good useful farm horses was keen throughout and prices obtained were well up to those which have been ruling at other horse sales. The advertised draught colt realised £55, and was purchased by Mr J. Lif.Uo, of Pupakurn. • Good quality heavy draught horses sold up to £47; good quality light farm horses, £3O to £34 ills; light farm sorts, £2l to £2B; aged horses, £ls to £18; hacks, £2 to £7.

The immediate future Is doubtful, hut we Lace a good opinion of the more distant future of the market. New Zealand, 70s to 71s: Australian, 69s lo 70s. Cheese, white, 525; coloured, 50s; Canadian, 525. Dalgety and Company, Limited have received Hie following advice from Messrs. Samuel Page and Son, Limited.—Duttcr: The market is tinner owing to'reduced stocks. New Zealand finest sailed, 60s to 70s; Danish, 118 s to 120 s; Australian finest unsalted, 68s to 70s; finest silted, 68s to 70s; good average quality, 65s to 07s. Cheese: The market is firm owing to light supplies. New Zealand, white, 51s to 525; coloured, 495; Canadian, white, 49s to 51s; coloured, 49s lo 50s.
