COMMERCIAL.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, report having held their Waihou sale on Friday, when a small entry of hoggets and ewes with lambs at foot sold at recent rates. A small entry of dairy ■cattle sold well at better prices. There was a good yarding of beef which met with a good reception at higher rates than last sale. Store cows were yarded in large numbers, and showed no alteration on late quotations. Yearling heifers were not yarded in as large a number as usual, and a good sale resulted. Service bulls were in demand, while potter bulls are selling at low figures. Quotations: — Sheep.—Heavy woolly hoggets, 22s to 23s 6d; light, 17s 6d to 20s 7d; ewes with 60 per cent, lambs at foot, 24s 6d.

Beef: Heavy fat cows, £5 2s 6d to £7; heavy fat Jersey,-cows, £6 6s to £6 13s; medium, £4 4s to £4 15s; medium Jersey heifers, £3 to £4 11s; light, £2 15s to £3 14s; killable cow's, 37s to £2 10s; store cows, 28s to 355; young Jersey cows, 20s to 255; boner cows, heavy, 2is to 27s 6d; boner cows, light, 10s to 18s; empty twoyear heifers, 24s to 30s; yearling Friesian-steers, 27s to £2; quality yearling Jersey heifers, £2 17s to £3 6s; medium yearling Jersey heifers, 32s 6d to £2 2s; small yearling Jersey crofes heifers, 16s to 255.

Dairy Cattle. —Quality Jersey heifers, £4 10s to £5 10s; medium Jersey heifers, £2 15s to £4. Bulls.—Two and 3-year pedigree Jersey bulls, 71gns. to Bgns.; 2-year bulls, poor quality, £2 15s to £3 10s; yearling bulls, 25s to £2 10s; potter bulls, 20s to 30s. Pigs.—Another exceptionally heavy yarding of fat pigs sold under keen competition, at greatly advanced rates. Both baconcrs and porkers Increased in value by 3s to 5s per head as compared with other Waikato sales. Average price per lb., for bacon 52d, average price per lb. for pork 64d to 6Jd. A large entry of stores and weaners sold at late advanced values. Heavy baconers, £3 12s to £3 16s, this being for a pen of 10 pigs; medium baconers, £3 4s to £3 10s; light baconers, £2 16s to £3 2s; unfinished baconers, £2 7s to £2 12s; heavy porkers, £2 8s to £2 14s; medium porkers, £2 2s to £2 6s; light porkers, 38s to £2 4s; unfinished porkers, 27s to 365; good stores, 28s to 345; stores, smaller, 23s to 265; good slips, 20s t.o 245; smaller slips, 13s 6d to 18s; weaners, 10s to 16s; young Tainworth boar, £2 2s 6d.
