The challengers put up a great fight and looked like the winners on several occasions. The game was fast and exciting and was played In an excellent spirit, a marked contrast to the game between Morrinsville and Matamata, the previous week. The standard of ttie play was good, but on several occasions the forwards, after participating in a movement, could be seen standing waiting for the backs to do the rest. The backs of both teams attempted to keep the game bright, but their handling on many occasions was faulty. The ground was in excellent condition after the recent rain and the large crowd was treated to football at its best, played in a sporting spirit.
