CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
MONTHLY SOCIAL HELD. A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. One of the most successful social functions of Hie S. Auckland Caledonian Society's 193 i season was held in Hie Y.AI.C.A. on Saturday evening. There was a large attendance, and a most enjoyable evening was spent, a feature of the programme being an interesting address by Air A. .1. Sinclair, of To Awamutu, who look as his subject “Air Punch Visits Scotland.” The earlier part of Ihc proceedings was occupied by an excellent concert programme, songs being contributed by Mrs W. Miller and .Messrs H. M. liickford and 11. F. Saunders, recitations by .Miss S. Wright, Sword dance and scan truibhais by .Misses D. Sorensen and G. Seolt, and a hornpipe and Irish jigg by Miss 0. Gilmore. The South Auckland Pipe Band entertained with a selection. .Miss HoseFindlay, Miss Betty Alurray, and PipcAiajor S. Clothier acted as accompanists. Later in Ihe evening old-lime dancing was continued lo music supplied bv the Misses Grice, an extra being .•Hayed by Piper R. Watt.
