ELECTRIC WIRING.
UNREGISTERED WORKMAN. fine for employer. A prosecution under section 4 of tho Electrical Wircmen’s Registration Amendment Act, 1928, was brought before Mr F. W. Platts, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court, Hamilton, this morning, xvlicn Kenneth Goodacrc Paterson was charged with employing an unregistered xvireman. Mr 11. T. Gillies, who prosecuted on behalf of the Registrar of Electrical Wircmcn, stated that the' defendant employed Gower, an unregistercl wireman, lo install electrical points in Mr W. T. Luxton’s house. The first three points were installed by a registered wireman in company with Gower, but the remaining 16 points were pul in by Gower alone. “The object of the legislature in passing this Act is to ensure the safety of all electrical wiring done in houses," added Mr Gillies. “There is, of course, no suggestion that the work in this case was improperly done.” A line of £3, with costs 10s and solicitor's fee £1 11s (id, was imposed.
