MUNICIPAL BAND BALL.
FUNCTION AT TE AROHA. The plain and fancy dress ball inaugurated by the Municipal Band was an unqualifled success, fully 200 couples being in attendance, all parts of the district, also Hamilton and Waitoa, being well represented. The Epi Shalfoon orchestra provided the music. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss E. Mace and Mr Prendergast. Prize-winners for fancy dresses were:—Best lady’s fancy dress, Miss D. Hansen (Chinese Lady); best man’s fancy dress, Mr Cameron (Mexican) ; most original, Mr G. Day (Centenary Air Race); most humorous, Miss V. Goodfcllow (Mickey Mouse); group, Messrs J. Evans, J. Neil, C. Jackson and R. Watson (Washing Party). Among those present were:—Mr and Mrs Cameron, Mexican Don and his Spanish Lady; Mrs Kenealy, Postman; Miss Desiree Hansen, Chinese Lotus Flower; Miss K. Mac Alister, Eastern Princess; Miss H.
