Mr E. C. Day returned from a short visit to Wellington this morning.
Mr. G. G. Virtue, of Sydney, is at the Hamilton Hotel.
Mr. W. Darrall, chairman of the Talua Co-operative Dairy Company, Lid., Tatuanui, Is visiting Hamilton.
Mr. J. J. Ryburn, chairman of the Waikato Hospital Board, and Mr. F. Findlay are visiting Rotorua to-day.
Mr 11. Gladstone Hill, formerly of Hamilton, has entered St. George’s Hospital, Christchurch, for an operation.
At a meeting of the Hamilton Rugby Union management committee . last evening Mr E. R. Smith was appointed manager of the Hamilton senior team to meet Cambridge on Saturday.
Mr H. C. Ross, of Hamilton, left Auckland yesterday on the Niagara for Sydney. He Is expected to be away about three weeks.
Mr A. G. Hodder, representing the Co-operative Wholesale Society, Ltd., Manchester, England, is in Hamilton for a few days.
A presentation of a 4 fountain pen was made to Constable A. Patterson, of the Newton (Auckland) police station, who has been transferred to Waihi.
At a meeting of the Waikato Hospital Patients’ Sunshine League committee last evening Mr G. W. Kemp was unanimously elected secretary and treasurer of the League.
Mr J. Brooks, of Hamilton, lias been appointed judge of the cat section in the Auckland Kennel Association’s annual show, which will be held on Saturday, at Auckland.
A resolution of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr F. W. Swayne, of Cambridge, was passed at tlie annual meeting of the Waikato Lawn Tennis Association.
Mr S. Irwin Crookes has been appointed by the Auckland University College Council as its representative on the council of Massey Agricultural College in place of the late Sir George Fowlds.

Mr K. S. Williams, M.P. for Bay of Plenty, who lias been indisposed in Wellington for the past six weeks, was granted 12 days’ leave of absence by (he House of Representatives yesterday. Mr Williams left for his home yesterday morning and expects to resume his Parliamentary duties at the end of this month.
A prominent visitor to New Zealand after the Melbourne Centenary celebrations will be the Rt. Hon. F. S. Malan, of Capetown, South Africa. Mr Malan will attend the celebrations as the representative of the Union of South Africa branch of the Empire Parliamentary Association. He expects to arrive at Auckland on December 4.
