At the Empire Games bowling tournament the New Zealand rink—H. Grocott (Auckland), W. Dillicar (Hamilton), Pollard and Carter—were defeated by England, 28 —10. Scotland also defeated New Zealand, 29—13.

England and Ireland at present are leading, and France will play the final to-morrow.

In the pairs the Englishmen (Hills ami Wright) retain the title. They were unbeaten both in 1930 and 1934.

Keys (New Zealand), also went down B—2l in the singles to the English player. He was later defeated by Sprot (Scotland), 21 —13. Sprot was unbeaten throughout and becomes champion.

The wrestling contests in connection with the Empire Games resulted: Heavyweight,—Knight (Australia), defeated P. Meehan (Canada) on points after 15 minutes; Knight also defeated A. Dudgeon (Scotland) wltii a fall in G mins. 25 secs. Dudgeon who weighs 20 stone, smiled genially when the crowd dubbed him the “ Loch Ness Monster.” Knight gains the heavyweight championship by a substantial margin.

Lightweight,,—Final: Garrard (Australia) defeated Thomas (Canada) on points in 15 minutes.

The other winners of titles were:— Bantam-weight.—E. Melrose (Scotland).

Feather-weight.—ft. McNab (Canada ).

Welter-weight.—J. Sclieilmer (Canada ).

Middle-weight.—T. Evans (Canada)

Light-heavy-weight. —W. Gubbin (South Africa).
