Woodfull, -Bradman, Wall, O’ReillJ and Ponsford are standing out of the Australian side. The representatives of Warwickshire are Wyatt, Parsons, P. Cranmer, Bates, N. Kilner, Groom. San tall, Mayer, Paine, E. Hollies and J. Buckingham. Ivippax won the toss from Wyatt and Australia batted first. The weather was fine. ■Australia compiled 221 in their first venture, the county, at stumps losing three wickets for 20 runs. The wicket was affected by rain. ■Brown wanted on© for his thousand runs for the tour when he again failed. McCabe and Darling were scratchy, Wyatt’s eight overs costing only two runs. Darling was twice dropped before he was out. Watohed by Selectors. Kippax and Chipperfleld were battang well until 'Paine, whom the Test -selectors were watching, palpably worried Kippax before he claimed his wicket. ■ 'Chipperfleld was batting nicely when he played a hall on to his wicket and when 'Bromley went the total was 123 for .six wickets. Grimmett and Oldfield figured in a stand which produced 50 runs in 40 minutes before Oldfield was caught, ending an excellent fighting innings. Grimmett was applauded for his top score. The innings lasted for 260 minutes. Warwick opened at 5.40 p.m. in an indifferent light. Ebeling, extracting life from the pitch, took two wickets for 7 runs.
