Roy Lovett (24), one of the Ballarat Aero Chib’s most promisingpilots, was killed when his machine nose dived from a height of 1500 feet. Lovett had just come out of a loop when lie plunged to earth. The nose of the machine drove nearly four feet into the ground. The plane was wrecked and the pilot sc\ctcly crushed.
