OBITUARY.
MR CHARLES WATERHOUSE. FORMER HAMILTON PASTOR. Well-known in the Waikato for his religious and temperance work, Mr Charles Waterhouse died at his home, Ml. Albert, Auckland, on Thursday, at tho ago of 67 years. The lale Mr Waterhouse was born and educated in England, and entered the ministry on coming lo the Dominion. From 1909 to 1917 he was pastor of tlie Church of Christ at Thames, filling a similar position at Hamilton from 1917 to' 1919. During (lie latter year lie organised the election campaign for the New Zealand Alliance in tliis district. Mr Waterhouse then became organising secretary of the New Zealand Evangelical and Publications Association, a movement associated with the Churches of Christ. From 1923 until 1931, when lie retired owing, lo ill-health, Mr Waterhouse was organiser of the New Zealand Alliance in the South Auckland Area, with headquarters in Hamilton, llis earnest and energetic activities in tlie cause of temperance earned him widespread respect and esteem from many quarters. When Mr Waterhouse 'retired he went to live In Auckland. He is survived by ills wife, a son, Mr R. Waterhouse, of Whangarei, and a daughter, .Mrs J. Sherlock, of Auckland.

Friday. The death is reported from Christchurch of Mrs. Ellen Farmar, aged ILL widow of [lie late Mr. E. T. Kannar, a former Mayor of Blenheim. REV. J. BOOTHCOVO. CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The death is announced of Rev. Jesse Boothroyd, aged 70 years, a retired .Methodist minister, lie was wellknown throughout New Zealand.
