OBITUARY.
fVSR EDWARD LYE. AUCKLAND, Friday. Mr Edward Lye died at his residence on Wednesday, aged 09. Mr Lye was associated with the firm of ,1 pyo and Sons, which was established in 1847. MR J. R. GILCHRIST. OAMARU, Thursday, The death occurred suddenly last night of Mr James Ramsay Gilchrist, aged 08, a well-known breeder ol' Border Leicester sheep and a wellknown resident of North Otago. He fanned successfully the Roseberry Estate, which a few years ago was purchased by the Crown and subdivided. Mr Gilchrist, In his younger days, was a fine athlete. MR FREDERICK FOSTER. DUNEDIN, Thursday. The death has occurred of Mr Frederick Foster, aged 57. Mr Foster was treasurer of the Otago Boxing Association, a member of the Otago Wrestling Association, and a life member of the North End Boating Club. REV. J. BOOTHROY'D. CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The death is announced of Rev.' Jesse Boothroyd, aged 76 years, a retired Methodist minister. He was wellknown throughout New Zealand.
