THE WEATHER.
HAMILTON MAY TEMPERATURES. The following temperatures were recorded in the ball of a private residence last month:—Highest day, (17 degrees; lowest day, 53; highest night, GO; lowest night, 37; average day, GO; average night, 49. The average day temperature for May 1933 was 66 and the average night 56, degrees, May records for period 1922-1933: —Highest day, May 24, 1033, 72; lowest day, May 18, 1926, 51; highest. night, May 14, 1925, 65; lowest night, May 23, 1931, 37. The average for the above period is:—Day, 63 and night 52. THE RAINFALL. MORHINSVILLE RETURNS. Mrs 0. A. Seville, Morrinsville, reports as follows on 1 tic rainfall for May:—Total fall, 3.25 inches on ten days; maximum fall l.OSin. on 3rd. There were frosts on ten days; warmest'day. .70 on Ist., coldest night, .24 on 19th. PUKERORO RETURNS. Mr John Christie, Pukeroro, supplies us with the following details;—During May rain fell on 15 days, llic heaviest fall was on I lie 3rd. when l.OSin., was recorded. The fail for the month was 3.84 in. compared willi 5..47111. ill May lasi year and 3.85 in., the average fall for May since .1928. The fall for 1934 to dale is 15.1 t inches. During May the thermometer on the grass fell below 32 degrees on 13 occasions, I lie. lowest reading being 10 degrees Fahr. on the 19th.
