DEBTS TO AMERICA.

BRITISH TOKEN PAYMENT.

THE DEFAULT QUESTION. ASSURANCES DESIRED. United Pres* Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyrlgrnt (Received May 31, 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, May 30. It is understood that following today’s Cabinet meeting, a note will shortly be dispatched to President Roosevelt proposing a further token payment on June 15 pending a final settlement. Assurances will be sought that the token payment will not be construed as a default. It is I kely if the United States regards the token as default that Britain will pay nothing. But there is no finality pending further conversations with Washington. '
