ACTION BY DRAINAGE BOARD. A MEMBER “SPEECHLESS.” (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. “That the cut of 10 per cent, in salaries and wages imposed by resolution on May 21 and June 17, 1931, shall be restored as from April 1, 193 i, on £250 of salary or wages of eacii employee." This was the resolution proposed by the chairman, Mr G. W. Hutchison, and carried unanimously at a meeting of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board, when estimates of revenue and expenditure for the current year were under consideration.

“Any discussion?” asked the Mayor when the resolution was moved. .Mr J. Coyle: “I feel very pleased.” Mr A. Rosser: “Speechless—at least I am!"
