VISITORS ENTERTAINED
WINTER SHOW FUNCTION. S i PLEASANT EVENING SPENT. J i The dairy factory managers, stewlards, judges and visitors to the Waikato Winter Show were entertained at a smoke concert in Alexandra Hall last j evening, the president, of the Show ; executive, Mr W. E. Clark, presiding I over a large attendance. j Mr P. C, Petersen extended a hearty i welcome to the visitors, while Mr A. I W. Green proposed the toast of “ The j Visitors." Mr R. McCorkindale, in reply, thanked the Show Association for its hospitality and remarked that the Show was bigger and better than ever. “ There is no better display of butter and cheese in the world than at the Winter Show," said Mr J. Brash, in proposing the toast ’ The Waikato Winter Show.’ The exhibits are excellently laid out and the display is a credit to the Show Association.” Mr W. E. Clark, in reply, thanked all the exhibitors for their loyal support. Without the support of the exhibi-
tors the Show would not be the success it was. The judges of the butter and cheese sections commented very favourably on the uniformly good quality of the exhibits. Mr Clark added that if the Show continued to increase the buildings would have to be extended. Concert Programme. An excellent programme, organised by Mr E. L. Watkins, consisted oi' songs by Messrs E. Ewart, C. J oil, G. A. Wheeler, Iv. P. Eade; humorous songs, Mr W. Fenton; violin solos, Mr D. Boyd; conjuring, “The Joker”; humour, Mr P. Evans. Mr Evans also led community singing, Mr F. Harrison being the accompanist.
