WOMEN’S DIVISION.

MATAMATA BRANCH. The annual meeting of the Matamata branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held on Wednesday, Mrs K. E. Buchanan presiding over a good attendance. The report stated that the financial had increased from 12 to 20 during the year. Mrs Voyce, president of the Waikato East Association, had visited the branch twice during the year. A good deal of enthusiasm had been caused by the butterfly competition, over 28,000 being caught the first time and 00,053 on the second occasion. A very successful hospital day had been held, the proceeds of which had been greatly appreciated by the Waikato Hospital authorities. Members of neighbouring branches had attended the birthday garden party at which Mrs Voyce gave an interesting address on bush nurse and housekeepers. The balance-sheet showed a 'credit of £6 11s. Officers elected were:—President, Mrs K. E. Buchanan; vice-presidents, Mesdames A. W. Lambourne and F. Barugh; auditor, Mr F. Banks; secretary, Mrs C. Taylor; committee, Mesdames J. Montague, S. Wright, J. Pickup and L. Flower; advisory members, Mesdames G. Taylor, N. S. Griffiths and A. W. Lambourne.
