N.Z. CHILLED BEEF.

AVELONA STAR’S SHIPMENT

ARRIVES IN EXCELLENT STATE.

THE PRODUCERS' TASK

United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright.

(Received March 13, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 12.

The Avelona Star’s shipment of New Zealand chilled beef was submitted in the Smithfield provincial markets in splendid condition. Traders consider that the last two shipments show that chilled meat can now be carried from New Zealand equally well as from Argentina, but they insist that the producers must provide young well-bred beef to compete with Argentine. The Avelona Star’s shipment _is realising id per ib. below Argentina beef, and Id per lb. above New Zealand frozen meat.
