The Premier, Senor Lerroux, interviewed on Sunday evening, said the Government was strong enqugh to deal with any emergency. There was no danger of revolution, the immense mass of the nation solidly hacking the Republic. The Madrid correspondent of the Times says the tension now T appears to have eased. The news of the declaration of a general strike fixed for midnight, which was announced by wireless from London, caused surprise and is officially denied.

There is now a possibility that the builders' strike, in which 50,000 have been rendered idle, may be settled. The declaration of the printers’ strike has been postponed until to-morrow.

Civic guards frustrated attempts to burn it. Segovia and Malaga arc the only towns where the strike is complete.
