CONCERT AND DANCE. Resulting in an appeal from Hie Pluukot Society for assistance, a very successful concert and dance was lie Id at Horsham Downs. The chairman said it was not necessary to dwell on their aclivilies, beraiisc lliey were renowned throughout tiie, lirilisli Empire and possibly Iho whole world. An apology was received from Mr A. M. Risley and Mrs Risley, president of the Hamilton branch, who were unable lo he present. The following programme was enllmsiaslically received: Pianoforte solo, Mrs Bartholomew; song, Mrs K. .1. Precst; recitation, Mr H. Primrose; song. Miss Johnston; chorus, school children; violin solo, Mr Phipps; song, Mr B. Primrose; elocution. Miss Dixon; song, Mrs Osborne; song. Mrs Ait ken. The accompanists were Mrs Barlholomew, Mrs A. Henderson, Miss Towers, Miss F. Aiken and Mr Phipps. A hearty vole of thanks was passed to the performers, and lo Mrs D. Bruce and Miss Bruce for organising the evening. A ilainlv supper was provided by the ladies'of Ihe district. A dance followed, Mr Hildreth, of Ilamillon. aiding as pianist. Approximately fa will be handed lo the Plunkel Society.
