GUILTY OF THEFT.
POWER BOARD FUNDS TAKEN.
ADMITTED TO PROBATION. AUCKLAND. Tuesday. In (iif. Supreme Court yesterday, Julian Frederick Dunn, aged ■i. who had pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing £195 J3s 10d, the property of the Auckland Eteclric-Powcr Board, came up for sentence. Counsel said that prisoner had previously had an exemplary character. For 20 years, with the exception of three years’ active service during the Great War, he had been employed by the Auckland Electric-Power Board, and, as cashier and banking officer, find handled more than £500,000 in a year. Restitution of the money stolen iiad been made. if prisoner were granted probation iiis friends would assist, him to obtain employment. Prisoner was admitted to probation for one year and ordered to pay Hie costs of the prosecution, £1 9s, within a week.
