DESTRUCTIVE FIRES
DAIRY FACTORY BURNED. TIIE ORIGIN A MYSTERY. (Bv Telegraph.—Press \ = soeiatlnp.> STRATFORD, Monday. The Toko dairy factory was destroyed by fire early on Saturday morning. The origin is a mystery, but the fire is thought lo have commenced in the boiler room. The factory was visited the previous evening by the first assistant, who found everything in order. The insurances were: On (lie building, £2250; on the plant, £3400. OUTBREAK AT HOTEL. INDICATIONS OF INCENDIARISM. (By Telegraph rre<*« xssnrlatlnn.} STRATFORD, Monday. A slight outbreak of fire was discovered on Saturday evening in an outbuilding at the Toko Hotel. The flames were speedily extinguished, but indications were that a deliberate attempt was made to cause fire, paper and live matches being found.
IVIOTOR LORRY DESTROYED. AFTER CRASH INTO POLE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association ) PAIHATUA, Monday. A lorry owned and driven by j. Cleghorn, with a load of goods cn route to Wellington, was destroyed by lire at Ilamiui early this morning. A lyre burst, and the lorry crashed into a telegraph pole and ignited. Mr Cleghorn bad a narrow escape, lie was uot seriously injured.
