JAPANESE COMPETITION.
NEGOTIATION DEADLOCK. EFFORT TO OVERCOME IT. (Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 10. The special committee on Japanese trade competition, representing all sections of the Lancashire cotton and artificial silk industries, has endorsed the action of the negotiating committee in submitting a new document to tiie Japanese delegation in an effort to end the deadlock over the geographical scope of any agreement that may be reached. The newspapers say the document reiterates the view that the restriction of any agreement to the markets in Britain and the colonies is out of the question. However, the committee does not wish to create the impression that it is not willing to discuss those markets, and it suggests that they should be discussed in conjunction with world markets. - The Manchester committee considers it undesirable to comment on the contents of the memorandum, which is still under examination by tiie Japanese delegation.
