HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER.
TE AWAMUTU BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Te Awatnulu Electric Power Board was held on Friday, when the chairman, Mr J. T. Johnson presided. The contractors for the supply of hardwood poles advised that the poles would probably reach Te Awamutu by January 22. The chief electrical engineer, Public Works Department, Wellington, wrote asking for comparative monthly figures for lighting a large private'hotel with SO lighting points and sundry heating points, etc. Ihe manager had supplied Inc information. The Rovenue. The revenue from the sale of current for November was as follows: General lighting, heating, etc., EI23S 15s, power £1442 9s 7d, penalties and sundries £34 12s 4d, street lighting £3B making a total of £2753 16s lid, against £2SSS 9s Jd for this month last year. The consumers’ finance account was ill credit £622 19s sd. Accounts totalling £3538 3s 7d were passed for payment. Notice of Motion. Mr Lethbridge said as regards his notice of motion regarding the restoration of the cut wages and salaries lie would prefer to leave Ihe motion to come up at the April meeting, and asked permission accordingly. After some discussion, the chairman said these matters had been discussed with members of the hoard, and lie pointed out that the motion, if carried, would interfere with the board’s estimates for the current year and for that reason he suggested the present was inopportune for such a motion. Mr Lethbridge asked for permission to withdraw his notice of motion and this was agreed to.
