TENNIS TOURNEY.

HAMILTON SCHOOLS. KEEN GAMES DECIDED. FIRST DAY’S RESULTS. Play of a high standard was witnessed at the Rostrevor Street courts this morning when the annual tournament of the Hamilton Primary Schools Lawn Tennis Association was commenced. Keen contests were the order of the day and as play entered into the finalist stage many high-class games were featured. The organisation of the. tournament w r as excellent and all credit is due to the joint secretaries of the association. Miss E. E. Burnett and Mr L. R. Anthony. In opening the tournament the president. Mr F. \V. Hare, expressed gratitude on behalf of the association to the Hamilton Tennis association for the use of the courts, to the Herbert Smith Trust for the provision of a number of tennis racquets as individual trophies, and to Messrs. Hugh Wright and Company for cups as points prizes. The finals will be decided on Monday afternoon., Following are the results at the conclusion of this morning’s play:— Senior Boys’ Singles.
