OBITUARY.

MRS S. A. CHAMBERS. The death occurred to-day of Mrs Sarah Ann Chambers, at the age of 7 6 years, at the residence of her son, Mr W. 11. Pryce, of Hamilton. Mrs Chambers, who was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs S. Lloyd, was born at Greenfields, Woolsaston, Shropshire, and married Mr W. Pryce at Shrewsbury, in 1880. Mr Pryce died in 1904, and his widow took up district nursing in the Midlands of England. In 1911 deceased was married at Shrewsbury to Mr T. Chambers, a well know’ll Invercargill merchant who was on holiday in England at the time. Mr and Mrs Chambers came to Invercargill the same year. After residing there for 10 years, Mrs Chambers came to Hamilton to live w’itlr her son. Mrs Chambers was well known as a nurse in Hamilton and the Waikato and was a keen worshipper at St. George’s Church, Frankton. Mr Chambers died in .1912, and Mrs Chambers is survived by four sons. Mr W. H. Pryce (Hamilton), Mr C. D. Pryce (Timaru), Mr G. F. Pryce (Hamilton) and Mr N. H. Pryce (Matamata) and two daughters, Mrs W. P. Bailey (Stanley, Warkw'orth) and Miss F. E. Pryce (Hamilton). Another son, Lieutenant J. S. Pryce, was killed in action in 1918. There arc 15 grandchildren.

MR M. K. PARKES. The death occurred yesterday of Mr Maxwell Knieton Parkes, of Hamilton, aged 41 years. Mr Parkes, who was born at Leek, Staffordshire, was the son of Mr Knieton Parkes, the author, some of whose books arc in the Hamilton library. in 1914 lie came to New’ Zealand, and was manager of a camera business ir. Dunedin for five years, after which ho started a music and camera firm al Hawera. where lie remained for three years. In 1925 he returned lo England. and continued in the music trade, this time at Brighton. In September of lasi year .Mr Parkes returned lo New Zealand and commenced a music business at Whan gar el. Five months ago he bought out the old-established business of Arthur Eady and Company, Limited. He was particularly interested in drama and in all branches of music. Mr Parkes is survived by his wife and, Uu-eu children.
