Bloat. “ Friesian."—Bloat generally ooours when the cows are made very hungry, due usually to being kopt too long at the milking shed, and then allowed on to good feed with the. dew on it. Tho moisture encourages fermentation. An idea that has generally corrected the troublo is to give the cows soino hay before turning them out. This naturally discourages feeding heavily on tho food that causes bloat. An idea which lias proved quite successful is putting 2oz. of hydrochloric acid to a 400 gal. tank of water.
