Mrs Colin Wilson returned to Hamilton on Wednesday, from a visit to England. * # * *
Miss Alwyn F. Rees-Jones, of Wellington, is staying at the Hamilton Hotel. • * * * Miss Patricia Nelson, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. Nelson, Woodville, whose engagement to Mr Donald McLarty, of the Riverina district, New South Wales, has been announced, ■is a clever young actress who visited New Zealand last year.. She has lately been touring the big towns in Australia in the “Tout Paris” Company (J.C.W.), and Is now In Sydney.
A fearless rider and evidently with no fear of the air, Miss Jocelyn Howarth (who has the feminine lead in “The Squatter’s Daughter") arrived from Brisbane by air mail, says a Sydney paper. Miss Howarth had a marvellous reception In the north, and is now getting out the grease paints once more and preparing for work on her part in “The Silence of Dean Maitland.” The other evening she danced at the Australia with Keith Stanton, who will play opposite her in her new role.
