WEDDINGS.

ROGERS—JONES

At St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Matamata, on Wednesday, the Rev. A. C. Hampton officiated at the wedding of Gladys Thelma, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J- Jones, Okauia, and Donald Wilmot, eldest son of Mr L. Rogers, Te Awamutu, and the late Mrs Rogers. The bride entered the church with her father and wore a slim fitting frock of grey crinkle crepe with cherry collar and buttons. Her hat was. of grey straw trimmed with cherry ribbon, and she carried a posy of cream roses and forget-me-nots. Miss Gwen Jones, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid and wore a primula blue frock with hat to match. She carried a posy of roses and delphiniums. Mr M. Madill, junr., was best man.

After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the residence of the bride’s parents at Okauia. Mrs Jones received', wearing a beige wool crepe do chine frock and hat to tone.

Mr and Mrs D. W. Rogers will make their home in Te Awamutu. •

PETERS—WOOD. The w’edding took place at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Putaruru on Saturday’, - December 2, between Hector, youngest son of Mrs and the late Mr John Peters, of Puketurua, and Gwendolen, younger daughter oJ Mr and Mrs E. R. Wood, Okoroire. The Rev. P. Cleary performed the ceremony.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming frock of heavy ivory crepe de chine. She wore a beautiful embroidered veil and orange blossoms and carried a sheaf of lilies. The bridesmaids were Miss Hazel Wood, sister of the bride, ann Miss Valerie Peters, niece of the bridegroom, who wore frocks of pale green silk pique with hats to match, and carried bouquets of deep cream and pale pink roses. Little Dorothy Carter, niece of the bridegroom, was a flower-girl and wore a frock of flowered dimity with pale green organdie frills. She carried a posy of pink roses.

The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr Wilfred Peters, as best man, and Mr Larry Wood, brother of the bride, as groomsman. After the service the relatives and a few friends were entertained in the Cottage Tea Rooms, where the usual toasts were honoured. Mrs Wood received her guests wearing a frock of black silk marocain with touches of white.

Mr and Mrs Hector Peters left by car en route to Wellington, where the honeymoon will be spent, the bride travelling in a smart grey ensemble.

Their future home will be in Puketurua.
