WORK AT TE RAPA. |FEW FAST GALLOPS. THE MORNING'S ACTIVITY. Little fast work was attempted at Te Rapa headquarters this morning when the course proper next to the rails and outside the flags was available. The majority of pace work was done on the plough. Before breakfast Miss Lulu and L’Allegro were sent along easily over five fui’longs. Allegretto, Star Artist, Royal Artist and Cargen were restricted to useful pace work. Tutchon’s Oharges. Cordon (R. E. Thomson) and Ruby Meteor (G. Connor) were associated over an easy mile on the course proper covered in 1.52, the last three furlongs in 43 3-os. On the rails, Curlew (Heka) and Killadar (Connor) were practically on terms at the end of five furlongs run in 1.7. The three furlong peg was reached in 37s and the half-mile in 51s. Sinking Fund, Travelling Agent, the four-year-old Little England—Kinetic mare, Kahau and Ruby Meteor were exercised on the. plough. Slrona and Lion Heart. Moving off from the half-mile peg along the back on the rails Sirona (J. Mclnally) and Lion Heart (0. McInally) were together over three furlongs cut out in 365. Both are in splendid fettle for engagements ahead. Te Hoia (A. Gilmer)- and Norval Tea (J. Mcßae) were not extended to get to the end of six furlongs on the plough in 1.24. Tradesman Moves Freely. Tradesman (R. Ferguson) moved freely over a circuit at half pace on the plough. Boughal, who is bearing a bright appearance after his racing at Takapuna, was exercised over a round on the plough. Phiakuo was another to be worked at steady pace on the plough. Calapago was worked over two rounds and sent along over two furlongs on reaching the back on each occasion. The first time he covered the two furlongs in 26s and the second time, 27 l-ss. Valpal Jumped. Valpai (Mcßae) was schooled over a round of fences. He risked the first -obstacle but handled the balance of his tack in satisfactory manner. Valpal is sore at present and will need to improve to be a starter at the Te Awamutu gathering. Inoluded among the others to be worked were 'Sean, the Aore-Thurnline filly, Cruachan, Wilton, Wiltshire, Lady Diacquenod and the Raceful —Lady Wallace and Raceful —Inspiration two-year-olds of Reilly'’s. A. J. Julian’s two-year-old charges were also on the tracks.

WAIPA RACING CLUB. ACCEPTANCES TO-MORROW. Acceptances for the annual meeting of the Waipa Racing Club on Saturday week close at 5 p.m. to-morrow (Friday), with the secretary (Mr J* G. Wynyard), Te Awamutu, or with Messrs Blomfleld and Company, Shortland Street, Auckland. RETURN FROM SYDNEY. AUCKLAND, Thursday. The three-year-olds Safari and After Money, owned by Mr W. Higgins, of Wellington, returned from Sydney by the Wanganella yesterday and have joined P. E. Pope's stable at Takanini. Mr R. G. Hosking, president of the Whangarel Racing Club, and the Awapuni trainer G. W. New', also returned by the Wanganella. The Otaki trainer A. D. Webster and the Awapunl horseman Alan McDonald arrived in Wellington from Sydney on Tuesday. Webster did not bring his main team home with him, his only horses on board being The Mirror and Peter Jackson. ALL CLEAR FOR CEYLON. FULL-BROTHER TO PHAR LAP. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. All Clear, a full-brother to Phar Lap, will leave by the Marama on Friday for transhipment at Sydney to Ceylon, to his new owner, .Mr G. L. Lyon.
