The Commissioner advised ths managing director at Kuranui, Mr R* M. Aitken, who stated that the company was willing to pay the amount when it was due, but was sick of humbug, and had decided to close the plant down, the tables being dismantled and the motors removed. The company has been assisted ini the supply of power by the Public Works Department and labour subsidised by the Unemployment Board. About 25 men were rendered idle.
