TE PUNINGA NEWS.
FAREWELL FUNCTION. The Brookfield Hall was crowded to the utmost, when a dance arranged by the Te Puninga Basketball Club was held as a farewell function to Miss J. Saxton, who is leaving the district to join the nursing staff of the Auckland Hospital. Music was provided by Mr. J. dSTarshall’s orchestra, and Mr. F. Downing was M.G. In making a presentation to Miss Saxton, Mr. T. J. Roach referred to the good work Miss Saxton had done as secretary and treasurer of the Basketball Club, and on behalf of her friends wished her success in her career in the future. Personal. Miss C. Wright, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Wright, has passed another examination in nursing after 15 months’ service on the staff of the Auckland Public Hospital, and has entered on a further period of training for three years. Miss M. Hillary, Tatuanui, is visiting Auckland.
