STEWARDS COMPLAIN.

DISPLACED BY PRESIDENT. I INCIDENT AT SUMMER SHOW. Allegations that the president of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Mr H. Windsor, overstepped his duties in replacing the parade stewards on tjje second day of the annual show were made at a meeting of the executive to-day by Messrs. RA. Hinton and W. T. Luxton, whose names appeared in the show catalogue as parade stewards. In explaining his action Mr. Windsor stated the he had heard complaints from exhibitors of other breeds that the Jersey section was being marshalled first for the parade, whereas the draw indicated that the Shorthorn breeds should lead, the Friesians, \yrshires and Jerseys.. He added. “As long as I am president I will not have the exhibitors complaining, and I will do all in my power to correct any faults I may notice.” ■Mr. R. A. Hinton contended that Mr. Windsor should have consulted Mr. Luxton and himself as they were in the catalogue as parade stewards. Asked how the names appeared in the catalogue Mr. C. E. Goosman (secretary) stated that when the catalogue was being printed he noticed that the parade stewards had not been elected and so he put in the same stewards as last year. Mr. W. 11. Miers added that he had heard’ that there was ill feeling among the breeders concerning which breed should lead the parade. Mr. F. S. Veale contended that the president should have' consulted the stewards who were arranging tho parade instead of listening to exhibitors. The stewards did great work each year and the president should have confidence in them. • Mr. W. Newell thought that there would have been no trouble if the stewards had marshalled tlfe cattle in the order in which they had been drawn, lie thought the president was perfectly correct in trying to correct complaints. Mr. Hinton still thought that the president did not act fairly in ingoring Mr. Luxton and himself. Air. Windsor said he considered he had acted in the best interests of the association. - 'The matter then dropped.
