SUPREME COURT.

THE VACANT JUDGESHIP. POSITION SHOULD BE FILLED. LABOUR MEMBER’S CONTENTION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association;) WELLINGTON, Friday. In the House -of Representatives today, Mr F. W. Schramm (Labour, Auckland East), asked when the Government intended to fill the vacancy -on the Supreme Court Bench. Mr Schramm said surely the Cabinet was able to -come to some decision on this subject. Its delay had given rise to a suggestion that there was something behind the whole matter. There must be some reason and the House should know it. It was imperative that the vacancy should be filled at the first opportunity. There were good men offering, and there was no reason why the appointment of a new judge should not be announced right away.
