COTTON CROP’S. PRODUCTION NOT CURTAILED. united Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. copyright NEW YORK, Nov. 8. The financial editor of the New York Evening Post says the report of the Department of Agriculture on the cotton crop Issued to-day Indicates a yield as at November i of 13,100,000 bales. He says this shows the failure of another Government effort In the dlreotlon of crop curtailment. Cotton farmers, on the other hand, cut their acreage substantially, but have been in a position to devote moro time to the remaining crop and used the Government’s funds to buy fertilisers and increased yield. The Government had expected to reduce production by 1 11,000,000 bales. It is announced that wheat purchases by Hie Farm Credit Administration for distribution among destitute unemployed total 11,579,000 bushels.
