SCENE OF GAIETY. DANCING PROGRAMME. There was a scene of brightness and gaiety at the Drill Hall last evening oil ttie occasion of the opening night of the Gatholic Carnival Bazaai. Daintily arranged stalls adorned xaii ■ ous parts of the hall, which was prettily decorated and lighted. _in the middle of the floor was an immense Christmas tree laden with attractive gifts., . . For weeks the queens in the carnival have been working feverishly To raise funds and the bazaar represents the crowning effort of their Achievement. Its excellent organisation and the keen enthusiasm of stall-holders and others does great credit to all connected with the function. Last evening an enjoyable programme of dancing was presented ny Miss Patricia Peacocke, the Convent Queen. Graceful movements by the pupils of Miss Isabelle Brook were keenly appreciated by the ‘spectators. There were two very fine ballets. The Individual performers were: Indian dance, .loan Fowl: waltz, clog, Patiic i Peacocke; jockey dance, Ida Martin; artist and model, Helen Hollinger and Ailsa Woolven; butterfly, Patricia White; mad hatter, Bernice Choate; American tap, Maretti Monteith; kicking cutie, Dorothy Corless, Another item which evoked warm applause was an acrobatic duo by Miss Peggy Clapham and Mr Neuth, pupils of Mr G. Kingston. This evening the programme will be in the hands of the Parish Queen, and on Saturday evening the Sports Queen will be responsible for the entertainment.
