Te Kahu skipped early, and Manna’s Son showed the way over the early stages to Rose Marble, Pearl Parrish, Gala Day, and Colleen Murphy.' Manna’s Son was leading Gala Day past the stands the first time, with Pearl Parrish handy In front of Colleen Murphy, Rose Marble and Kuini. Manna’s Son and Gala Day Increased their advantage along the back, where Kuini commenc'd to make a forward move. There was little between Manna’s Son an'd Gala Day at the straight entrance, with a gap back to Kuini, Pearl Parrish and Colleen Murphy. In a good run home Gala Day got up to beat Manna’s Son on the post by a head, with Colleen Murphy eight lengths away In’ front ot Pearl Parrish, Bose Marble and Te Kahu. Demand and Bingen Chief broke early, Winawav leading past the stands from Kla Kalia, June Royal, Worthy Light and Black Metal. Along the back Worthy Light Joined issue with Winaway and Kia Kaha with Tryment and June Royal handy, and the others tailed off. Kla Kaha led Into the straight from Tryment, with Worthy Light coming fast and June Royal the handiest of the others. It was a thrilling finish, in which the favourite, Worthy Light, got up to win by a. neck from Kia Kaha, who was half a length in rron't or Tryment. Kewpie’s Guy had £914 Invested on his chances for place, with £644 for Meteor on the place machine. - Dan Direct broke and Tactless was slow to go away. Meteor showed the way over the early part, and lead past the stands from Prince Pedro, Tactless, Dan Direct, Kewpie’s Guy, Great Parrish and Peter Pirate. Along the back the order was much tho same, Peter Pirate commencing to improve his position here. Past the stands the second time Meteor was followed by Prince Pedro and Dan Direct, with Tactless and Great Parrish following on terms, and Kewple’s Guy and Peter Pirate in that order. Kewpie’s Guy joined issue with Meteor along the back with Prince Pedro close up and Great Parrish and Peter Pirate also in the picture. They came into the straight in that order, and in a stirring tussle to the Judge Meteor prevailed by a short neck over Great Parrish, with a gap of two lengths to Kewpie’s Guy. Peter Pirate was a head away in front of Prince Pedro and Dan Direct. Times: 4.27, 4.25 1-5, 4.25, 4.24 1-5.

Tempo and Captlano skipped, shortly after tho lleld went away, but Tempo soon settled down, and passing the stands the (lrst time was leading Willie Derby, Bock Hinton, Pukemlro, Wen Machine, Srnooger, and nichore. Along the hack Tempo was making play Trom Willie Derby, Wee Machine and Pukemlro. Willie Derby moved up shortly after and headed Tempo into the straight, with Wee Machine, Pukemlro and Srnooger all in It. Willie Derby held on to win by three-quarters of a length from Wee Machine, who beat Tempo by a length and a-half. The favourite, Srnooger, was a head away in front of Pukemlro and Our Peter. Times: 3.25, 3.25 2-5, 3.27, 3.20 1-5.
