DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS COMMENCE TITIRANGI FRIDAY*. AUCKLAND, Monday. The annual New Zealand golf championship tournament will be commenced at the Titirangi links on Friday.' A very'representative entry has been received, and players from all parts of the Dominion Will be taking part. , The first round ,of the open championship and qualifying rounds of the amateur and professional championships wilKbe played on Friday, and the programme for Saturday includes the second round of the open championship and qualifying rounds for the amateur and professional championships and the O’Rorke Vase teams’ match. The leading seventy players will contest the third and fourth rounds on Monday.

The professionals will play, in conjunction with the open championship, competitions for the Gibson and Myer Cups. The former competition consists of the best aggregate of the first two rounds, and the latter the best aggregate of the third and fourth rounds, less handicaps.

RANA WAGG NOT COMPETING. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Sunday. Rana Wagg, amateur golf champion of the Dominion, has announced that he does not intend to compete at the New Zealand championship tournament, which is to open at Titirangi links, Auckland, on Friday. He won the national title at Christchurch in 1931, and retained It at Heretaunga last year.

WANGANUI CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY B. M. SILK. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI/ Sunday. The final of the Wanganui golf championship was won by the local player B. M. Silk, who defeated H. P. Dale, of Eltham, 5 and 3. Silk was four under fours at the end.
