IMPORTANT CONFERENCE. TO COMMENCE TO-MORROW. THE FIRST OF ITS KIND. It was arranged by the Dairy Board, and 45 delegates represent the board’s nine wards. Mr. W. lorns, chairman, will pre-: side. The proceedings will be private. IMPORTANT ENGLISH VISITOR. N TO TOUR NEW ZEALAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Mr. Baxter, representing the National Farmers’ Union of Great Britain will arrive on Thursday, and will be welcomed by the farming organisations. He is to be taken round the dairying districts of New Zealand, and will later discuss dairy problems, with particular reference to quotas, at a subsequent conference. INSTRUCTOR AT MASBEY COLLEGE. TRANSFERRED TO LONDON. OTHER APPOINTMENTS MADE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. ■ Mt G. M. Valentine, dairy instructor at Massey College, has received notice of his transfer to London, as assistant to thq •Inspector of dairy produce for one year. Mr Valentine will be replaced at Massey College by Mr ,J. W. Smith, dairy instructor at Whangarei, who will be succeeded there by Mr G. V. Were, at present Instructor in Hawke’s Bay and Wellington' and formerly occupant of the position to which Mr Valentine is now proceeding. Mr Smith recently undertook a visit to Australia, where he made observations of dairying methods.
