PUTS BACK TO PORT. United Press Assn.—Fine. Tel. Copyright. TOKYO, Sept. 18. The liner Empress of Canada returned to Yokohama at 7 p.m. yesterday leaking badly. The vernacular press published a rumour of an explosion. The owners of ihe vessel, the Canadian Pacific Company, promised to make a statement after a survey. Later it was announced that the liner had a fractured plate near the tail-shaft. Untoward rumours were denied. The Empress of Canada is to leave again this morning. t
